Instead of holding a victory party, newly-elected Samal town Mayor Alexander Acuzar opted to distribute medicines to his constituents in different barangays (villages).

The first three barangays to receive free medicines are Palili, East Daan-Bago, and West Daan-Bago.

The new town executive was accompanied by Samal Vice Mayor Ronnie Ortiguerra, Sangguniang Bayan members, Barangay officials, and health workers.

The health workers shall determine which medicines are commonly needed by barangay folks who can hardly afford such.

During the election campaign, Acuzar vowed to provide medicines to local folks more particularly the senior citizens to sustain their medical needs.
